On the morning of April 21, 2026, the Library of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, with the participation of representatives of the University’s Board of Management, partner libraries, leaders of various University units, as well as a large number of staff members, lecturers, and students from across the University.

As part of the program, a series of meaningful activities was organized, not only creating a highlight for Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2026 but also promoting reading habits and raising awareness of the important role of knowledge within the academic community.

One of the highlights of the program was the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the “You and K40” bookcase — a meaningful project donated by alumni from Cohorts K40 and K42. This valuable gift represents the deep affection and lasting connection that generations of alumni continue to share with their alma mater, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Kim Thanh Nam, representing the K40 Alumni Liaison Committee, expressed his sincere appreciation to the University’s Board of Management and the Library for creating an opportunity for alumni to contribute to the University’s information resources on the occasion of its 60th anniversary. He emphasized that this practical initiative would help support and inspire future generations of engineers and construction professionals on their academic and professional journeys.

Also at the ceremony, Mr. Do Tien Thanh, representing the Alumni Liaison Committee of Class 42MTN, shared his deep affection and lasting connection with the University. Having been involved in teaching and student supervision for more than 20 years, he noted that the donated books were not merely learning materials, but also a meaningful way of passing on knowledge and expressing hopes and aspirations for future generations of students.
